Thera Rising's Three-step Process for Healing Conflict, Anger and Mistrust

Three Core Components

1) Self-Defeating Habits of Otherwise Brilliant People® ~ The Groundbreaking Seminar

In this one-day session, participants learn how to avoid the costly mistakes that lie at the root of every escalated conflict; restore pride in work; extinguish incivility; and eliminate destructive reactions to disagreement such as avoidance, negative speculation, self-righteous indignation and simmering resentment.

2) Strengthen Respect, Trust and Cooperation in Teams ~ Code of Conduct Work

Building on the insights of session one, attendees learn how to facilitate Code of Conduct sessions, help teams end destructive habits and strengthen positive norms. In this 2.5 hour session attendees experience a hypothetical Code of Conduct session that they can replicate repeatedly in-house. Codes are surprisingly powerful and lasting tools that dramatically shift teams to healthy behaviors.

3) Resolve Conflict Between Employees ~ Painlessly, Efficiently and Permanently

Attendees learn how to resolve entrenched conflict between individuals. Building on the insights from the previous two sessions this 2.5 hour, hands-on coaching session consists of practice and feedback.

Required competencies for internal trainers

Demonstrate a minimum of two years as an effective trainer • Present an intact program without changing its integrity • Maintain neutrality while dealing with conflict • Facilitate group interventions • Develop mutually trusting relationships • Perform effectively in an atmosphere of ambiguity • Clarify and maintain personal boundaries • Visualize workplace processes and systems, interdependency and areas of tension • Synthesize data into patterns • Establish a method for monitoring change after the intervention • Determine the areas within your organization that warrant special attention

Steps and Investment

1)Trainers participate in either a public or in-house seminar of “Self-Defeating Habits of Otherwise Brilliant People®.”  In-house seminars for Train the Trainer are offered at a reduced fee of $3,600 and capped at approximately 25 attendees.

2) Trainers observe an in-house seminar with the audience of their choosing.  Involving key leaders is critical to company-wide adoption of the methods and strategies, therefore Thera Rising, Inc., conducts the second step of Train the Trainer at your location.  

The internal seminars are typically capped at 25 attendees.  Internal sessions of “Self-Defeating Habits for Otherwise Brilliant People®” in the Train the Trainer process are offered at a reduced fee of $3,600 each.

3) Trainers are coached for 1.5 days on presenting “Self-Defeating Habits of Otherwise Brilliant People.”  The 1.5 days of coaching consist of background information on the material and strategies, practice, pacing and logistics, customization of material, etc.  the fee for the 1.5 days  is $2,500 if scheduled back to back with the seminar sessions.

4) Optional:  Your HR Professionals can also obtain additional coaching in facilitating Code of Conduct sessions and resolving conflict between pairs. ­­ Contact us with your specific needs.

5) Annual renewal fee (waived the first year) is $2,000 and includes an update of all materials.

6) The hosting company covers travel expenses for the facilitator.

7) The hosting organization agrees to purchase Thera Rising Manuals and Key Concept Posters for each attendee.

How to Resolve Conflict Between
Direct Reports and Employees

Painlessly, Efficiently and Permanently

This half-day session is designed for managers and leads that have attended Self-Defeating Habits of Otherwise Brilliant People®.  During this session participants build on the skills they’ve learned from the seminar and practice hands-on application using case studies and examples from their own direct reports.

Leaders learn how to avoid common missteps in conflict resolution by: remaining neutral and unbiased, separating interpretations from facts, coaching individuals to move from resentment about the past to shared responsibility for the future and following up and insuring compliance.

This process draws out the best in people and restores collaboration.  Individuals embrace the changes in their working relationship with quiet relief.  They value and maintain their gains, and the results are surprisingly resilient. 

At the end of the session participants will be able to:
  • Prepare individuals for a face-to-face meeting by recording a brief history, highlighting their primary concerns, and identifying specific, future-oriented behaviors
  • Facilitate a meeting with both individuals to discuss each person’s concerns and ideas
  • Write a private “covenant,” a series of specific agreements that govern future behavior
  • Agree on a process for follow-up
